Media: Türkiye and Syria plan large-scale military operation against PKK

Turkish and Syrian Armed Forces will conduct a large-scale military operation against Kurdish militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Report informs, citing the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.

"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that if PKK-YPG does not lay down arms, if it continues to insist on a different administration in Syria, and if Western countries make demands in this direction, then a large-scale military operation together with the Syrian state will be inevitable," writes the publication.

On Tuesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Ankara had issued an ultimatum to Kurdish PKK militants in Syria. If the calls are ignored, a military operation may become relevant.
