The German Federal Intelligence Service (The Bundesnachrichtendienst, GFIS) has intercepted Russian military radio communications that allegedly contain new information about the massacre in the town of Bucha.
It is alleged that in the intercepted audios, the Russian military discussed the killing of civilians in Bucha, as well as specific individuals killed, according to Report, the German newspaper Spiegel reports, citing GFIS.
Some radio communications discussed the venue of those killed along Bucha's main street. According to one audio clip, a serviceman said that he and his friends shot a person on a bike. The image of a man, who was killed when riding a bicycle, of whom a picture was published in the media in different countries of the world, is one of the most famous proofs of the savagery in Bucha. According to another report, Ukrainian servicemen were first interrogated and then shot.
In addition, the militants of the private military company Wagner, notorious for their brutality in the fighting in Syria, played a decisive role in the atrocities in Bucha.
"The information obtained by the Bundesnachrichtendienst shows that the massacres in Bucha were neither accidental, nor the actions of individual soldiers, who lost control. Most likely, these materials show that the killing of civilians has become part of the Russian military's usual method and perhaps a strategy to spread fear and terror among the civilian population and to suppress resistance," the paper adds.
The mercenaries of the private Wagner group are known for carrying out unofficial tasks of Moscow in Libya, Syria, as well as in Africa. After the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Bucha on March 31, numerous war crimes were revealed in the city - the killing of civilians, torture, rape, and looting.
Photos taken by journalists, depicting the bodies of civilians in the liberated Bucha have spread around the world. The incident was condemned by activists, politicians, and figures of culture in Russia, Ukraine, and other countries. A number of reputable publications and experts have described the incident as an act of genocide, and the perpetrators of the massacre have been compared to Nazi Germany's war criminals.
