The real purpose of the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to Iran, first in 41 years, is to bring to the G20 summit (G20), which will be held in Osaka in June, the spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and organize his talks with US President Donald Trump, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.
"The goal is maximum - to reach an agreement in Iran and bring the spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to the G20 summit in Japan. If we manage to organize his talks with Trump, this will be the most important political event," the source said.
He stressed that this explains the rush of the visit - according to Japanese standards, the visit of the Prime Minister, and even the first for 41 years, was prepared and organized unprecedentedly quickly.
The visit of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Iran will last from June 12 to 14. After arriving in Tehran, the Japanese prime minister will hold talks with President Hassan Rouhani, and on Thursday with Ali Khamenei.
