Azerbaijan is a very important strategic, even irreplaceable partner of Georgia, Levan Makhashvili, a member of the Georgian Parliament, told Report, commenting on the visit of his country's President Mikheil Kavelashvili to Azerbaijan.
He noted that in particular, Azerbaijan plays an important role as a bridge between the West and the East, Europe and Asia.
The parliamentarian assessed the visit of the Georgian president to Azerbaijan as extremely productive and interesting.
The agenda of the talks included important issues, he said. This week, as part of a two-day official visit, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili held meetings with the president, prime minister and speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan.
The meetings were held both tete-a-tete and in a larger format.
