Latest situation in Kherson: Ukrainian Army ready for long-term offensive

According to the information of the Regional Military Administration, in one of the micro-districts of the city, the Russian servicemen searched houses for partisans.

In its morning report, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not comment on what happened in the Kherson region.

According to the British Defense Ministry's Latest Defense Intelligence update, Ukrainian armored forces have continued to assault Russia's Southern Grouping of Forces on several axes across the south of the country since Monday.

"Ukrainian formations have pushed the front line back some distance in places, exploiting relatively thinly held Russian defenses. In line with its doctrine, Russia will likely now attempt to plug the gaps in its line using pre-designated mobile reserve units. These will likely include some of those from the Eastern Grouping of Forces. The operational effectiveness of these units is not known. The 3rd Army Corps is highly likely short of personnel, and these troops have had limited training."

In addition, the Rig-Melitopol Telegram channel of Ukraine reports that in the morning of August 31, convoys of military equipment passed through Melitopol and moved towards Kherson: "Today, at 05:30, a convoy of 7 Ural and KamAZ trucks passed through the street Warriors-Internationalists. At 06:00, another convoy of 8 trucks moved along that street from north to south. At 06.30, 45 Ural and KamAZ trucks carrying weapons went along the same route."

According to the US-based Institute for the Study of War, the destruction of the supply routes of Russian troops by the Ukrainian military may indicate that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready for a long-term offensive in the region.
