Former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan has sued Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan.
Report informs via Sputnik Armenia that, according to the country's judicial information service, Kocharyan is asking the court to require Pashinyan to retract a social media post from June 5, 2025, in which he called Kocharyan a bribe-taker, stating a court ruling had been made on the matter.
Additionally, Kocharyan is asking for 6 million drams ($15,000) in moral damages.
As for Speaker Alen Simonyan, Kocharyan demands a public apology on his official social media account following comments made during a briefing in which he called the former president "a killer, a person whose hands are stained with blood, a thief, a corrupt man, a stranger whose way of thinking is not Armenian."
He is also asking for 6 million drams ($15,000) for defamation and 3 million drams ($7,500) for insult and moral harm.
