Kobakhidze: Georgia open to dialogue, but European bureaucracy avoids contacts

Georgia is open to dialogue with the European Union on any issue, but the European bureaucracy avoids contacts with representatives of the Georgian authorities, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists, Report informs referring to Georgian media.

"We once again confirm our readiness to conduct a healthy discussion on all topics. We do not close any issue, but European democracy still avoids healthy discussions, because the truth is not on their side. We have adopted effective laws, we protect the rule of law and democracy in the country, and we do not allow anyone to organize a revolution in our country," he noted.

According to him, it is important for the citizens of Georgia that the EU is associated with justice.

"We hope that the European bureaucracy will change its approaches to Georgia. The priority of our foreign policy is integration into the European Union," Kobakhidze said.

He noted that relations with the EU deteriorated in 2022, when the Georgian government abandoned confrontation, including military confrontation, with Russia.

"That's when open blackmail against us from Brussels began," the Georgian prime minister emphasized.
