Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has opened a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in a narrow format, Report informs referring to the Kyrgyz mass media.
Japarov noted that the meeting is taking place in the context of global financial and economic turbulence and the post-pandemic crisis. There is a large burden on the economies of the states of the Eurasian Economic Union, he said.
“In these difficult conditions, it is extremely important to do everything in our power as the heads of state, for a mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment partnership between our countries. Our common firm commitment to Eurasian integration is a solid foundation for developing and strengthening cooperation within the union, building bridges between the Eurasian and other regional and global markets,” Japarov added.
The leaders of the EAEU, among other issues, will discuss the formation of a common gas market and approve the launch of the process of negotiations on the creation of a free trade zone with the UAE. It is not ruled out that on the sidelines of the summit the theme of the ‘tripartite gas union’ between the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will also be touched upon.
