IRNA: Iran claims control over Israeli airspace

Iran's Air Force has secured control over Israeli airspace during an overnight attack, according to a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite branch of Iran's armed forces, Report informs via IRNA.

"Today's missile strike demonstrated that we have achieved full control over Israeli skies and that their citizens are completely defenseless against Iranian missile attacks," the IRGC statement said.

The IRGC noted that Iranian missiles penetrated several layers of defense, and that the Paykan and THAAD missile defense systems failed to intercept them.

"Iranian missiles are equipped with maneuverable warheads and travel at hypersonic speeds, allowing them to evade even the most advanced missile defense systems," the agency quoted the IRGC as saying.
