Iran’s flood crisis: Rising waters claim lives

In the wake of persistent rainfall, Razavi Khorasan Province in Iran has experienced devastating floods, resulting in at least seven fatalities and numerous disappearances, said Seyed Reza Abbasi Neyshabouri, the head of the province’s crisis management department, Report informs, citing IRNA.
Mohsen Davari, the chief of Mashhad County, said 150 people were evacuated from Chenark village in Razaviyeh District and 300 from Sultanabad village in Ahmadabad district due to the emergency.
Iran Meteorological Organization has issued a warning regarding the potential for further flooding in the country’s northeast regions, urging residents of Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, Golestan, and Semnan provinces to take proactive flood prevention measures.
Furthermore, the organization’s weather advisory includes an orange alert for Fars and Ardabil provinces due to expected heavy rainfall. The downpour is expected to intensify in the West Azerbaijan and East Azerbaijan provinces, as well as along the Caspian Sea coastline.
