Iran resolves ambiguity with IAEA over alleged enrichment of uranium to 84%

Iran has assured the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, that the level of uranium enrichment at the country's nuclear facilities does not exceed 60%, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEI) Mohammad Eslami said during a joint press conference with Grossi, who is on a visit to Tehran.

Report informs via TASS that Eslami stressed that a recent IAEA report states the detection of uranium particles enriched to 84%, while the final product did not exceed the 60% mark.

"Mr. Grossi's report was about the detection of uranium particles, and not about increasing the rate of enrichment to 84%. In the tanks where the products are stored, uranium enrichment does not exceed 60%, so this ambiguity has been resolved," the IRNA news agency quotes Eslami as saying.
