According to him, the repeal of the Montreux Convention and the change of the status quo will not benefit anyone: "We consider it helpful to protect of the Montreux Convention. We continue to work within this framework. We want these problems to be resolved peacefully and diplomatically as soon as possible, and peace and tranquillity reign in the region. The Minister of National Defense said that Turkiye will continue to implement Articles 19, 20 and 21 of the Montreux Convention: "We are striving not to turn the Black Sea into a conflict zone. As a country with the longest coast to the Black Sea, we have maintained this concept as a principle. As Turkiye, in all our meetings, we have made efforts to maintain peace, tranquillity and a secure environment in the Black Sea."
