Georgian parliament to create commission to investigate crimes of previous government

A temporary investigative commission will be established in the Georgian Parliament to examine criminal actions committed by former government officials between 2003-2012, said Mamuka Mdinaradze, the executive secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Report informs via Interfax.

"The temporary investigative commission will summon and question officials of the former regime, as well as other persons involved in crimes committed by the regime," Mdinaradze stated at a briefing.

He noted that the assessment of these actions will be crucial for preventing current threats to Georgia and ensuring its future stable development.

The commission will be established at the first meeting of the parliament's spring session.
