Erdogan: Türkiye, Greece to ink Declaration on Friendly Relations

Greece and Türkiye will sign a Declaration on Friendly Relations and Good Neighborliness, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview before his visit to Athens, Report informs via the Greek newspaper Kathimerini.

According to Erdogan, recently the two countries have been striving to develop cooperation.

“This common intention will be clearly stated in the Declaration of Friendly Relations and Good Neighborliness, which we hope to sign in Athens on December 7,” the Turkish President said.

Erdogan said that a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected.

"I will tell him that we do not threaten you if you do not threaten us. Let's build trust between our two countries. Let's expand bilateral cooperation in all sectors, such as economy, trade, transport, energy, health, technology, education, youth issues," noted the Turkish leader.

According to Erdogan, they will also discuss issues in the Aegean Sea - the joint fight against illegal immigration.

During the visit, Erdogan will take part in a meeting of the Supreme Cooperation Council.

Earlier it was reported that 20 agreements were planned to be signed between the two countries.
