Erdogan: There are over 4 million migrants in Türkiye

There are 4.033 million migrants in Türkiye, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during the presentation of the Migration Management Program, Report informs.

Erdogan stated that 2.768 million of the migrants are under temporary protection status: "Also, 1.090 million migrants are with residence permits, and 176,000 are Syrians under international protection."

Erdogan expressed Türkiye's sensitivity regarding the migration issue: "The migration issue is on the agenda of the entire world. Due to difficulties, millions of people are forced to leave their homelands."

The Turkish President highlighted the statistics of the last 10 years worldwide: "More than 281 million people have migrated worldwide. In the last 10 years, more than 72,000 people have lost their lives while migrating to other countries. As long as wars do not end, the number of migrants will continue to increase."
