Erdogan officially submits application to CEC for registration as presidential candidate

The current President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has officially applied to the Supreme Electoral Council (Central Election Commission) for registration as a candidate for the upcoming May 14 presidential elections, Report informs referring to TASS.
Representatives of Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party arrived at the CEC on March 21 to hand over documents for his registration.
So far, 18 politicians have announced plans to compete for the country’s highest state post.
