EU ambassadors approve extension of observation mission in Armenia for 2 years

EU ambassadors have approved the extension of the observation mission in Armenia for two years, Report informs, citing Armenian press.

European observer mission will remain in Armenia's border regions for another two years - until February 19, 2027.

The draft agreement stipulates that the composition and number of observers will remain unchanged (165 foreign and 44 Armenian members).

According to the mission in Armenia, this decision should be approved by the foreign ministers of EU member states in the near future.

Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, had proposed extending the mandate of the EU civilian mission in Armenia for another two years.

If approved, the EU mission will remain in Armenia for another two years, until February 19, 2027.
