Davitashvili: US foreign policy creates new opportunities for economic cooperation with Georgia

Washington and Tbilisi will be able to start fruitful cooperation, as there is a common political vision, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili said at a meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joshua Huck, Report informs.

"We discussed political prospects and talked about the complete alignment of positions between the Georgian authorities and the new US administration on key issues. This coincidence in views and ideology will help us build a promising agenda for cooperation," said Davitashvili.

According to him, during the meetings, the Georgian side initiated the signing of a new framework memorandum with the United States. The main purpose of the document is to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries and identify new directions.

"This includes not only trade in existing products, but also increasing trade turnover, more efficient use of the Middle Corridor, as well as expanding cooperation in technology and innovation," the minister emphasized.
