Conclusion of peace treaty between Yerevan, Baku key element for stability

The work on the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and preparation for a peace treaty is one of the key issues for ensuring stability in the South Caucasus, Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, said during a briefing, Report informs via Russian media.
"The situation in the region remains unstable. The settlement process continues, with work on the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and preparation for a peace treaty being the central aspect," he said.
He also noted that "Western countries' attempts to consolidate their influence in the South Caucasus contribute to tensions in the region."
