Bishkek presents protest note to Russia over mass detention of Kyrgyz migrants

The Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs has presented a note of protest to Russian Ambassador Sergey Vakunov over the mass detention of migrants using force against them, Report in forms via 24KG.

In connection with the mass detentions of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic that took place on April 11 in the Bodrost bath complex in Moscow, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almaz Imangaziev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, Sergei Vakunov, on April 14.

The Russian side was handed an official note with a request to provide information on the grounds for the operation carried out by law enforcement agencies, as well as the use of force against citizens and, if the use of force is unjustified, to take appropriate measures against representatives of Moscow law enforcement agencies regarding this incident.

A request was made to take effective measures to protect the rights of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and to prevent similar situations in the future that could damage the Kyrgyz-Russian relations of alliance and strategic partnership.
