Bakhtiyor Saidov: Trans-Afghan railway to become part of global supply chain

The Trans-Afghan Railway will become one of the links in the international supply chain and strengthen transport connections between regions, Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov said at a joint press conference of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan in Ankara, Report informs.
He added that the parties discussed the possibilities of using Uzbekistan as a transport and logistics hub for Turkish and Azerbaijani companies to enter new markets.
"One of the key topics was the construction of the Trans-Afghan Railway. This large-scale project will not only connect Central and South Asia but will also become part of the global supply chain," Saidov noted.
He added that they also discussed the expansion of cargo transportation along the international multimodal transport corridor, which includes Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and Europe.
