Azerbaijan-Ukraine Friendship Alley established in Kyiv

The Azerbaijan-Ukraine Friendship Alley has been established in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine.

According to Report, this eco-friendly initiative took place within the framework of Azerbaijan's Green World Solidarity Year campaign.

The tree-planting event, spearheaded by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine and the Kyiv City Administration, held at the picturesque Natalka Park, brought together dignitaries such as Oleg Bondarenko, the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada), Petro Panteleyev, Deputy Mayor of Kyiv, and representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora.

Speaking before the tree-planting event, Seymur Mardaliyev, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Ukraine, emphasized the significance of joint efforts in protecting the environment. "Green cities symbolize life, health, and sustainable development. This year holds special importance for Azerbaijan in the context of ecological initiatives," he stated.

The event highlighted the crucial role of global cooperation in combating climate change. Ambassador Mardaliyev further added, "This project is being implemented in accordance with the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan, declaring 2024 as the Green World Solidarity Year. Our participation in this event is another step towards achieving these goals. We are confident that our collaboration will make a significant contribution to improving the ecological situation in Kyiv and serve as another symbol of the strong friendship between Azerbaijan and Ukraine."

Expressing gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for the initiative, Deputy Mayor Petro Panteleyev remarked, "The establishment of this alley is a clear example of the friendly relations between our two countries. The Azerbaijani state is making its contribution to a green world in Ukraine as well."
