Gasparyan stated that the court found Karapetyan had been illegally detained and held for more than nine hours. The lawyer also noted that the Appeals Court identified another legal violation in the criminal case against the businessman.
She drew attention to the fact that the first-instance court, chaired by Judge Artak Karapetyan, failed to consider this issue when approving the arrest.
For context, Samvel Karapetyan was arrested on June 18 and placed in custody for two months on charges of publicly calling for the seizure of power.
