Armenia is not considering Russia's participation in the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan has said.
According to Armenian media, cited by Report, commenting on statements by Russian officials that the project would be beneficial only with Russia's involvement, Safaryan stressed that TRIPP is being implemented as a bilateral initiative between Armenia and the United States.
"The TRIPP project is being implemented in the Armenia–US format. The agreement has been signed, and the project is currently in the implementation phase. At this stage, the involvement of the Russian side in TRIPP in any format is not under discussion. There is no such issue on the agenda," he said.
Asked how transit under the TRIPP framework would operate given Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Safaryan said that Armenia remains a member of the bloc and that transit procedures will comply with the union's regulations.
