Armenia on withdrawing Russian border guards: ‘There is no such decision yet’

Armenia is not yet planning to raise the issue of withdrawing Russian border guards from the Armenian-Iranian and Armenian-Turkish borders, Armen Abazyan, Director of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia, said Monday, Report informs via News.am.
When asked whether the Russian border guards will leave the Agarak checkpoint on the border with Iran, Abazyan responded: "There is no such decision yet."
As for whether the Armenian side is capable of carrying out border service on the Armenian-Iranian and Armenian-Turkish borders on its own, the NSS director said: "Yes, in a phased version. But there is no such decision at the moment."
