Chairman of the Armenian Radio and Television Commission Tigran Hakobyan has stated the need to reduce the number of Russian TV channels in the public multiplex, Report informs via TASS.
"If we had not provided frequencies to Russia in our state multiplex, then there would not have been such tension in our relations the year before last. Now the French side wants frequencies. I believe that the presence of foreign TV companies in our public multiplex should be significantly reduced," he noted.
In Armenia, only Russian TV channels are retransmitted from abroad through the public multiplex: Channel One, "Culture" and "RTR-Planeta".
