Armenia has appointed its first ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to Report, which cites the Armenian media outlets, the decree was signed by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Karen Grigoryan, the current Armenian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will now also serve as the ambassador to Saudi Arabia in a dual capacity.
Saudi Arabia had previously refrained from establishing diplomatic relations with Armenia as a gesture of support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
