Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party does not plan to participate in the 2026 parliamentary elections as part of a coalition, Speaker of the Armenian parliament, Alen Simonyan, told journalists, Report informs via Armenian media.
"I don't think we will participate in the next elections as a coalition... I am sure of it. Civil Contract will communicate with the people and will receive 50%+ vote," he said.
He noted that former presidents of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan will "help" them win.
"As soon as they go on air, our rating will start to grow. If such figures as Vazgen Manukyan, Artur Vanetsyan or Archbishop Galstanyan join them, the rating will grow even more," Simonyan believes. In his opinion, the Civil Contract party will most likely form the government on its own and continue reforms in the country.
