Fifty people were detained during rallies on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi last night, according to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Report, informs via Interfax.
According to the ministry’s statement, two individuals were detained on charges of participating in group violence, including one foreign citizen born in 1997.
A total of 28 people have been detained as part of the investigation into the incidents of violence since the start of the protests.
The ministry also stated that certain groups within the protest became violent, firing pyrotechnic devices at law enforcement officers and throwing stones and various objects at the police. One officer was injured during the incident.
