Four people were killed and another one was injured in an armed clash between gunmen and the police in southeastern Iran early Sunday, Report informs via Xinhua
The police forces were on a patrol in Saravan County in Sistan and Baluchestan province, when they were attacked by a group of "terrorists," according to the semi-official Mehr news agency.
Three assailants were killed during the clash, in which one policeman was also shot dead and another one wounded. A manhunt is underway to arrest the rest of the attackers, according to the report.
Sistan and Baluchestan, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, has been the site of several terrorist attacks targeting both civilians and security forces in recent years.
