1 killed in strong earthquake in western Türkiye

One person was killed in the earthquake in the Sindirgi district of Balikesir province in western Türkiye, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya said, Report informs.
He noted that an elderly person pulled out from under the rubble died despite the efforts of doctors.
Several more people were rescued from under the rubble of the destroyed building, in total, 29 people were injured.
The minister stressed that he will remain in the disaster area for two days. The magnitude of the tremors was 6.1, and the epicenter was located at a depth of 11 km.
