White House mistakenly shares Yemen attack plans with journalist at The Atlantic

American journalist Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic was mistakenly included in an ultra-classified discussion group, granting him access to highly sensitive US military plans for operations against the Houthis in Yemen.

According to Report, which cites international media, the White House confirmed the incident on Monday.

Goldberg himself revealed that he received detailed information via the encrypted messaging app Signal on March 15, just two hours before the planned strikes. The intel included target details, weaponry, and exact attack timing.

The White House admitted to the security breach, with National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes stating:
"We are investigating how this happened."

Goldberg noted that the chat group consisted of 18 high-ranking officials, including the US Secretary of State and CIA Director. He only realized the information was legitimate after news reports confirmed the actual strikes.
