Vote calling not to recognize Russian presidential elections fails at EP

A vote calling not to recognize the presidential elections in the Russian Federation failed in the European Parliament (EP), Report informs.
The author of the initiative was Riho Terras, a MEP from Estonia.
Only 29 out of 705 members of the European Parliament voted in favor of not recognizing the election in Russia. The MEPs who supported non-recognition were from Estonia, Bulgaria, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Sweden, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
The presidential elections in Russia will be held on March 17, 2024.
