The United States has notified its NATO allies of its intention to stop participating in the planning of future military exercises in Europe, Interfax said via Swedish publication Expressen, Report informs.
This does not yet concern the NATO exercises already planned for 2025, in which the United States will have to play a key role.
According to one of Expressen's sources, this concerns NATO exercises that are currently on the "drawing board", that is, at a later stage of implementation.
The American side wants to reduce military spending in Europe and prioritize the Indo-Pacific region, the publication notes.
