US Senate confirms Marco Rubio as Secretary of State

The US Senate confirmed Marco Rubio as President Donald Trump's secretary of state. The broadcast was carried by the C-SPAN TV channel, Report informs via TASS.
Earlier on Monday, the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted to approve Rubio's nomination by President Donald Trump for Secretary of State and recommended that the full upper chamber confirm the senator for the post.
Republican Rubio has been a member of the Senate since January 2011. He represents the state of Florida in the upper chamber of Congress.
