US doubles uranium imports from Russia

In the first half of 2023, the US bought 416 tons of uranium from Russia, 2.2 times more than in the same period of 2022, the American statistical service said, Report informs.
In addition, this figure reached the highest level since 2005.
It is stated that Washington paid $696.5 million for Russian uranium.
The USA also increased its uranium purchase from England by 28% to $383.1 million. France sold uranium to the USA for $319 million, which accounted for 15% of the total imports.
