US and Israeli delegations absent from opening of UN Council session

For the first time, the US did not send a single representative to the opening of the high-level session of the UN Human Rights Council.
According to Report, which cites the foreign media, the seat allocated to the US delegation in the conference room of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva remained empty for the first time, despite the opening of the high-level week of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council this Monday. The Israeli delegation is also absent.
The seat of the US delegation is located between the delegations of Russia and Palestine.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on the withdrawal of the United States from the UN Human Rights Council.
