Members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine have begun collecting signatures to submit a petition to the Constitutional Court to annul a law that effectively restricts the activities of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP).
According to the Eastern European bureau of Report, at least 45 signatures from lawmakers are required to file the petition with the Constitutional Court.
The controversial law limits the powers of the two key anti-corruption bodies, NABU and SAP. The document was supported by 263 members of parliament.
