Ukraine prepares import restrictions against Moldova

Ukraine is preparing import restrictions against Moldova in response to a similar decision from Chisinau, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka said in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, Report informs.

"We had notified Chisinau that any restriction on the part of Moldova would be considered an extremely unfriendly step and would entail an immediate ban on all imports from Moldova," he said.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food expressed disagreement with Moldova's intentions to limit the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from Ukraine.

Minister Mykola Solskyi called the grounds voiced by Chisinau incomprehensible because Ukraine does not export these crops to Moldova. The ministry also stated that negotiations between Ukraine and Moldova would continue.
