UK ready to deploy troops to Ukraine immediately after ceasefire

British Defence Secretary John Healey has announced that the United Kingdom is prepared to deploy troops to Ukraine as soon as a ceasefire is in place.

According to Report, speaking to The Independent, Healey confirmed that British forces are “ready to deploy and operate from day one of a ceasefire,” signaling a strong commitment to Ukraine’s post-conflict stabilization and security.

According to the report, over the past several months, around 200 military planners from 30 countries have been involved in drafting detailed post-ceasefire strategies. These plans are focused on supporting Ukraine through an international coalition tasked with securing airspace and maritime zones, as well as assisting in the reconstruction of the Ukrainian armed forces.

The UK’s readiness to contribute to these efforts underscores its ongoing support for Ukraine and its role in broader international security cooperation.
