Thailand urges peaceful resolution to border conflict with Cambodia

Thailand is calling for a peaceful settlement to the escalating conflict along its border with Cambodia, Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa said, Report informs via EFE.
The Thai top diplomat stated that the country remains committed to resolving disputes through diplomatic means. "Thailand reaffirms its readiness to settle disputes by peaceful means in accordance with international law," he said.
The remarks come amid rising tensions following the Thai border command’s decision to declare martial law in eight districts of Chanthaburi and Trat provinces, both bordering Cambodia.
According to the latest reports, the three days of clashes have resulted in significant casualties: 19 people killed in Thailand—including 13 civilians and six soldiers—and 13 fatalities in Cambodia, including eight civilians and five military personnel.
