Terror attack on Israeli consulate thwarted in New York

US security services have foiled an attempted terror attack on the Israeli Consulate in New York, Israel's Consul General in New York Ofir Akunis said, Report informs via TASS.
"The State of Israel deeply appreciates the swift action and cooperation of the American security services in thwarting today's attempted attack on our consulate," he said in a statement.
The Times of Israel newspaper reported that the detained suspect was a supporter of terrorist organizations, including the Islamic State terrorist group (outlawed in Russia). He resided in the US state of Virginia and was apprehended by the FBI.
