The Taliban government in Afghanistan has said it will expand its “food for work” program, Report informs, citing Indyturk.com.
Afghanistan's Deputy Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs Fazil Bari Fadhli said this was due to financial difficulties. He added that the wheat was imported from Pakistan and India.
The payment of salaries in wheat was first introduced in October. At that time, each worker in Kabul received 10 kg of wheat a day, while engineers - 16.5 kg.
