The Taliban radical movement has called for an international conference on economic aid for Afghanistan, spokesman for the movement's political office in Qatar, Mohammad Suhail Shaheen, told Sky News.
"In the short-term perspective, we certainly need assistance from other countries. We need help to pay salaries to teachers, officials, and security forces," he said.
"We call on all countries to help us. I think there is a need for an international conference to provide economic aid to Afghanistan, which was already held earlier. It must be done not for us but the people of Afghanistan," he said.
