Atef Najib, a maternal cousin of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has been detained by the country's new authorities.
Report informs via Syria TV that the channel does not provide information about where exactly and under what circumstances the detention took place. The new Syrian authorities have not yet commented on this information.
Under Assad, Najib held the position of head of political security in the southern province of Daraa.
