Syria requests military support from Türkiye to boost defense capacity

Syria has officially requested military assistance from Türkiye to enhance its defense capabilities and ensure internal security. Report informs, citing Turkish press.

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense confirmed the request, stating that Syrian authorities had formally asked for support in strengthening national defense and combating all terrorist organizations, particularly ISIS.

"In line with this request, Türkiye will continue to provide assistance in training Syrian military personnel, offering advisory services, and delivering technical support to improve Syria's defense capabilities," the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry also emphasized that Türkiye’s primary objective is to support Syria’s political unity and territorial integrity, while working to establish lasting peace in the region.
