Switzerland to provide Ukraine with 20 demining vehicles

Switzerland will give Ukraine 20 demining vehicles, the Ukrainian Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories said, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

The ministry signed a memorandum with the Swiss manufacturer of mechanized demining equipment Global Clearance Solutions. As a result of the agreement, about 20 demining vehicles will be transferred to Ukraine during this year.

The demining vehicles will be used to clear mines and unexploded ordnance in the territories of agricultural land and critical infrastructure facilities in the de-occupied areas of Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

In addition, the parties agreed to cooperate in the field of technical and non-technical surveys of supposedly contaminated, explosive areas. And also to educate the population of the liberated territories on the risks associated with non-detonated ammunition and mines.
