Sweden is expected to apply for NATO membership on May 17, Report informs via Svenska Dagbladet newspaper.
The application date will depend on whether Finland decides on membership by then. According to Finnish experts, there is a risk that the discussions in the Finnish parliament on the NATO membership, scheduled for May 16, might be delayed.

Earlier, Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto told the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that his country would apply for NATO membership on May 18.
