Russia considers resuming maritime links with North Korea

Russia is reviewing the possibility of resuming maritime links with North Korea, including ferry services, according to Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Alexander Kozlov, Report informs via the Russian press.

Kozlov, who also leads the Russian side of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, and scientific-technical cooperation with North Korea, made the statement when asked about the current status of transportation links between the two countries.

"We are considering all forms of communication between our countries, including the ones you mentioned," he said, referring to maritime and ferry transport options.

This development follows the announcement that the first direct flight from Moscow to Pyongyang is scheduled to depart from Sheremetyevo Airport at 19:00 Moscow time (GMT+3) on Sunday.
