The Action and Solidarity party ruling in Moldova has accused Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban of implementing a plan to denigrate the idea of European integration for the sake of the "Russian game," Report informs via Moldovan media.
"Ion Ceban handed over a detailed plan with the location of the strategic institutions of Chisinau to a Russian company, which also employs FSB agent Yuri Gudilin. Ceban has been protesting for years against Moldova's accession to the European Union, and, seeing that accession is approaching, he wants to discredit this idea and tries to involve us in the Russians’ game," the party said in a statement.
The citizens of Moldova have long expressed their desire to join the EU, demonstrating this in the 2020 presidential elections and the 2021 parliamentary elections, when the pro-European forces won.
Earlier, President Maia Sandu addressed the people, announcing a mass rally in support of European integration on the Great National Assembly Square, which will be held on May 21.
